Last Day at LCNS
Yesterday was Jack's last day of preschool. I was a wreck, but Jack handled it perfectly.
Twenty years ago, I used to walk past the Little Red Schoolhouse every day, and I'd daydream about what a cool place it was and how much fun it would be to have a child to take there some day. And what I imagined wasn't even halfway as great as what it turned out to be. It would not have been possible, I don't think, for Jack to have had better teachers or a more supportive environment than he's had the past two years.
Jack and I made painted glass bottles for him to take flowers to his teachers for the last day. They both seemed to like them very much, and he seemed really proud of his gift.

I stayed for the whole day and Jack and I both took lots of pictures and video. Here he is during centers enjoying the sand table, the water color experiments, and making some crazy drippy art.

And I wanted to take some pictures to compare Jack on his first day of school two years ago with Jack today. Just look at how much he's grown up. But I didn't notice until I was looking at the pictures -- I think he's wearing the exact same pair of shorts!

But you know what? He still looks like my baby boy when he's sleeping.
