BooBoo!
My little man has a big ol' booboo on his cheek. Don't ask me how, but he managed to fall in between the wall and the toilet, bang his cheek on the bowl and become so wedged in there that I had to extricate him out sideways. Oh, he did howl! And he's got a big purple bruise to show for it. I'm sure it'll get him sympathy for days. I guess we'll postpone his 2-year portraits for a little while!
We had a big weekend visiting the farm. Jack had a terrific time with Nama and Dapa. We got there Friday night, had a nice roast for dinner and played until bedtime. On Saturday after breakfast, Jack went to go see the cows ("Moo! More Moo! Mama Moo! Baby Moo! White Moo! Black Moo! Oh, oh, more moo!") and then we went to see Grandma Sylvia. He was very good there, playing and coloring the whole time.
The best part of the day was going to out for pizza. Jack and his grandpa colored for a long time while we waited for our dinner. They made dozens of "masterpieces" together. Roger even tried to pay for our supper with one of them! They were coloring in a notebook that I had brought along which Jack, at one point, referred to as his "handy notebook" -- at least that's what we think he said. I think we've been watching too much Blue's Clues lately! =)
He ate three helpings of Linda's spaghetti and didn't turn his spoon upside down a single time! Then, after supper, his grandpa got him a sucker and he walked around and around the table with it laughing and just generally being adorable. I was so proud of how good he was in a restaurant and how open and friendly he was with Dave and Linda.
Both mornings Jack got to help feed all the farm cats. We counted 15 at one point, and Roger thinks there are more kittens in the shed! They're the friendliest farm cats that I've seen out there -- some even let me pet them as long as I had the food in my hand! Jack kept up a running commentary on what the cats were doing. He's got a lot more verbs in his vocabulary all of a sudden. "Meow run! Meow hide! Meow eat! Meow up high!" (OK, so there's no verb there, but it's implied!)
After a good buffet lunch in town with his grandparents and great-grandma, we headed for home.
Here are a couple of pictures from the weekend.
Coloring at the restaurant with Dapa
Coloring with Grandma Sylvia (he called her "More Nama")
And the owie on his cheek -- it's the other cheek, Jack!!
